Weight today

This morning, I weighed myself and I am exactly 17st 2 lbs or 240 lbs or 108.862169 kilos not too made thats down from 19st 10.5lbs in July 2007 progress is reasonable.
My fat percentage based on the Omron Bf302 is aprox 26 -27%. Not bad compared to 37 %.
I have started a new part-time course, also I have tried the body for life weight training programme I think I need to practise it more ha ha. Have to get used to non-machine work, also I have been rushed on my 1st upper body attempt also the gym I went to was packed. So I couldnt relax with all the required weights, I ran out of time. The lower body went ok slightly confused over the right exercises still more practise. Tonight I will spend more time and practise my technique with lower weights for the upper body.Saturday will do lower bod.
I will be 14st 7lbs, 203lbs or 89.09 kilos with 15 -20 % by March 2007.

Weight loss graph

The graph I didnt tick the box!

Weigh In

Well today I have come to the realisation I shouldnt weigh myself every day.
Especially with different scales, different times, different clothes, after weight and cardiovascular training, after eating, and twice in one day(morning and evening).
What am I expecting to miraculously lose 2 stone overnight.
So now I am going to put the scales and body fat monitors away. I have two body fat monitors a omron and accu measure). Set-up a chart and measure myself once a week on Wednesday in the morning.
Monitoring:
  • Weight
  • Body Fat percentage (Omron and Accu measure 3 point)
  • Lean mass
  • Measurement of body(chest, thighs, waist and neck)

I might even take a photo. These details I will publish on the net.

Also I intend to record my training level.

The graph attached is my weight loss to date:

Speaking of training level, I recently purchased the Body For Life book.I read a lot of sucess stories. The exercise seems to be achieveable and I actually like the intensity level system. I tried it during the week on the cross-country machine and found it quite good. The timing is actually a lot less demanding at least time wise than what I am at presently. Which is important because I work 12 hour shifts. I think next month with the help of a gym instructor local gym, I will try a modified version, though the level of protein supplement is scaring me so I will do it more than likely without the supplements And I still want to do a lot of cardiovacular exercise it will help me towards my final goal. The justification for changing programmes is I feel the body as well as the mind needs to be in a constant of change.

Will update soon.

Hello WorldWideWeb

Hi Everyone,
This is the 1st post or introduction pictures will follow.... well maybe( Im actually quite shyI have no problem presenting facts or figures).
So whats the point of this well???
Well in July 2007 I decided I wanted to run a marathon...OK it can be done.
Though I had a slight problem I weighed 19st 10.5lbs very high body fat 37%...
Now this is a lot of weight for anyone... And for me it made running on any surface hard work and also dangerous. ( I have lost that much weight and more before for some other time)
So what have I done since July.
  • My first step was to join weight watchers (It worked for my mother for a while) The group environment helps also being weighed by someone else is very motivating. It taught me lots of things.I still go regularly.
  • I changed my diet, cutting down on everything unnatural(fried, processed etc) aiming to be more natural so higher protein(chicken, turkey lean beef) lower carbohydrates(bread, rice and potatoes).
  • I started a high cardiovascular gym program 50 -60 minutes bike and cross-country low impact medium resistance a session, very little weightlifting. Up to 5 sessions (sometimes even twice a day) week tough going.
  • I have changed my program cos i do not want to be a 14st 7lbs weakling or all frame no muscle. Monday, Wednesday, Friday 1o minute bike warm up, stretch then 5 upper body and 4 lower body weights 3 sets, 15 reps then I do 30- 40 minutes on the cross -country Tuesday and Wednesday switching between either Light exercise ( 30 mins walk) or gym intense and more than likely both then (10 mins bike 30-40 minutes cross country 10 mins bike).
  • I have read a lot of books on weight loss, muscle gain.
  • I have looked at a lot of websites. Hi Adam Waters
  • So how has this changed me....
I have lost over 2 stone or 29 lbs to be precise so now I am 17st 9 lbs (approximately 28-32 % body fat) and falling.

To realise my goal I have to be at least a stable14st 7lbs or less. With a less than 20% fat percentage. I have divided it into three seperate plans:
  1. Plan one from now till Dec 25th I intend to lose 1.5 t0 2 Stone and drop my fat percentage by 6% or more.
  2. The 2nd plan will take from the 25th Dec 2007 to 25th March 2008 I intend to lose the same percentage and the bring my weight down to 14st and 7 lbs.
  3. The 3rd plan is my marathon training phase 3- 4months brings me to approximately end of July 2008
During these periods my nutrition is important.... I am unsure about the training path to take but I don't want a injury....So i will be careful. But I will try new weight programs and cardio.
Well this is an introduction... To part of my life.... I also work, planning to start a part-time course and I enjoy life...
